CultureCast synthesizes publicly reported institutional balance sheets (IRS Form 990 filings) with empirical visitor signals (ticket pricing, dwell-time depth, crowd congestion) to establish an open, authoritative standard for cultural analytics.
02. Mathematical Models & Algorithms
A. Normalized Bang-for-Your-Buck Value Score (Vscore)
Quantifies the objective return on capital and dwell time invested per adult visit on a normalized scale of 0 to 100:
- Tdwell: Median visitor dwell time in hours (sourced from mobility signals; benchmarked at $15/hr civic value).
- Padmit: Standard adult general admission ticket fee (USD; 1.0 score when admission is $0).
- Sexhibit: Normalized core exhibition sentiment index [0, 1] across verified visitor reviews (weight w2 = 0.45).
- Faux: Auxiliary friction index [0, 1] penalizing garage parking fees and corporate concession markups (weight w3 = 0.15).
B. 30-Day Forward Predictive Crowd Forecasting (Âforecast)
Models daily attendance density and expected visitor inflows through historical day-of-week multipliers and seasonal intent velocity:
- Abase: Baseline daily attendance derived from audited annual visitation (Annual Attendance / 365).
- δdow(t): Day-of-week empirical multiplier (1.75x Sat/Sun peak, 1.25x Friday, 0.80x Tue/Wed trough).

Evaluates individual donor conversion potential and institutional philanthropic resilience on a 10 to 99 index:
- MHItract: Origin visitor Median Household Income (Census ACS block group overlay).
- Tdwell / Tmedian: Visitor dwell depth relative to the 2.5-hour national museum baseline.
- Rrepeat: Annual repeat visitor and member retention rate [0, 1].
